ING Clarion Partners Names David J. Lynn Head of U.S. Research & Strategy

Lynn has more than 20 years experience in real estate and associated industries, and served most recently as Global Head of Research and Investment Strategy with AIG Global real estate, where he was responsible for investment strategy, marketing intelligence, new market and product development, and investment recommendations across all property sectors in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He led the firm into several new markets and developed strategies for new funds and products. Prior to that, he was a Senior Director at AvalonBay, a $5 billion real estate investment trust (REIT).

In 1999, Lynn co-founded the financial services division of Bidcom.com, a leading real estate technology company, with GE Capital Real Estate. Bidcom.com was later recognized by BusinessWeek’s "Websmart 50" as one of the most innovative companies in the Internet business. Earlier in his career, Lynn held positions as a National Project Manager for Target Corporation and as a Development Manager for The Boston Redevelopment Authority, a leading public development agency.

Lynn holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, where he was a Sloan Fellow specializing in finance and real estate. He received his Ph.D. in financial economics from the London School of Economics, where he also earned a Masters of Science specializing in finance. He earns a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University and a B.A. in Architecture from the University of California at Berkley.
