ING Clarion Real Estate Securities Continues to Expand its Global Research Team

“With Indy, Nelson, and James on board, our real estate securities investment team now numbers 19 professionals worldwide,” said Ritson Ferguson, Chief Investment Officer of ING Clarion Real Estate Securities. “This expansion serves to enhance our local presence in the European and Asian markets and deepens our link with ING Real Estate’s network of over 50 direct market research professionals.”

Based in New York, Karlekar will be responsible for the coordination and integration of the firm’s real estate market research worldwide. Prior to accepting this position, he was with ING Clarion Real Estate Securities’ sister company, ING Clarion Partners, as head of the Global Research and Strategy team. Karlekar will continue to be an integral member of ING Clarion’s Global Investment Policy Committee, the group responsible for setting portfolio strategy. Prior to joining ING, Karlekar worked at AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp and the Economist Intelligence Unit as a Senior Analyst.

Crutcher is based in London and will focus his research efforts on European property companies. He worked previously as a research analyst with ING Real Estate (UK) and IPD and has over eight years of real estate investment experience. Crutcher will report to European team leader and Senior Portfolio Manager, Steven Burton, CFA.

Wong’s responsibilities include the evaluation of the investment potential of listed real estate companies throughout the Asia-Pacific Region. He has over 15 years of real estate investment experience and most recently was Vice President of Deutsche Bank, where he initiated coverage of Hong Kong and Chinese investment companies, as well as Hong Kong developers. Wong reports to Asia-Pacific team leader and Portfolio Manager, Christopher Reich, CFA.
